Socket head cap screws are threaded fasteners with a cylindrical head and a recessed hexagon drive. Also known as Allen head screws, cap screws are turned using a hexagon-shaped key and can be tightened to much higher torque specifications than a crossed recessed or slotted drive fastener, and are commonly used in applications where a low-profile, high-strength fastener is required. They are frequently used in the aerospace and automotive industries, as well as in construction and manufacturing.

There are two types of stainless steel hex socket screws on the market, with knurled heads and without knurling. Stainless steel hexagonal socket screws generally cannot tell whether the material is good or bad from the surface, but it can be judged from the production process of the screw (industry experience, for reference only): Generally, stainless steel hexagonal socket screws have straight knurling on the head. It can be judged to be authentic screws produced by SUS304. Stainless steel hex socket screws without knurling on the head can be regarded as products with slightly poorer materials or lower nickel content.
