What is the difference between drywall screws and chipboard screws?
Even though drywall screws and chipboard screws are both screws, fastener goods nonetheless differ between them. What distinguishes drywall screws from chipboard screws, then?
Both types of screws have round heads, countersunk, and semi-countersunk looks. However, fiberboard screws often have a full thread, whereas drywall screws have a somewhat deeper groove. Double-line fine-thread and single-line coarse-thread drywall screws are the two types of drywall screws that are mostly used to join thin metal plates (steel plates, sawn plates, etc.).
Diameter size: There are many diameter sizes of drywall screws. Different specifications of drywall screws have different diameter sizes. The main specifications include 1/2 inch (12.7mm), 5/8 inch (15.9mm), 3/4 inch (19.1mm), 7/8 inch (22.2mm), etc.
Hardness :the hardness of drywall screws is not high, usually around HRC40, but because drywall screws are directly inserted into the wall, they have a strong fixing force and can withstand a certain weight. However, it should be noted that drywall screws are suitable for lighter objects. If you want to fix heavier objects, you need to use some more stable methods.The hardness of fiber screws is relatively high, usually above HRC50, so they can better withstand heavier items. Unlike drywall screws, fiber screws need to be screwed in along the direction of the board, which can better enhance their fixing force and ensure that the items are not easily loosened.
